Police in Camur, Bihar, raided Baghela village and seized 78.4 kg of cannabis, arresting two smugglers. They also confiscated ₹46,590 in cash and a motorbike.
In a coordinated operation, officers from the Chanpur police station carried out a raid in Baghela village, located in the Camur block of Bihar’s West Champaran district. The search was prompted by intelligence reports of drug smuggling activity in the area.
During the raid, authorities uncovered 78.4 kilograms of cannabis, packed in multiple containers and hidden in a storage shed. The seized material was immediately logged and transported to the district forensic laboratory for analysis.
The two arrested smugglers were found in possession of ₹46,590 in cash and a motorbike, both of which were seized by the police. The cash was believed to be proceeds from the drug trade.
A spokesperson for the local police said the operation was part of a broader crackdown on drug trafficking in the region and that further investigations are underway to identify the source of the supply chain.
