Bihar Museum crowned Asia’s top museum, rising from Patna’s Jadughar

The Bihar Museum, located in Patna, has been awarded the distinction of being the top museum in Asia, according to a recent assessment reported by The Indian Express. This accolade places the institution ahead of other prominent museums across the continent.

The museum’s journey began in the historic Jadughar building in Patna, a modest space that housed early exhibitions of the state’s cultural heritage. Over the years, the museum expanded its facilities and collections, gradually gaining national attention.

Today, the Bihar Museum showcases a wide array of artefacts that reflect the region’s rich history, from ancient sculptures to contemporary artworks. Its rise to the premier position in Asia underscores the growing importance of preserving and presenting India’s cultural legacy on a global stage.
