Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari, speaking in Darbhanga after a ‘Mann Ki Baat’ session, said the state will conduct a single exam with negative marking and that teachers facing issues with the TRE‑4 assessment need not approach courts.
Darbhanga witnessed a brief address by Bihar’s Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari after he listened to a local ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme. The minister used the platform to speak directly to teachers and officials concerned with the pending TRE‑4 assessment.
Tiwari announced that the state will shift to a single examination system for the concerned class, incorporating negative marking to improve evaluation standards. He explained that the move aims to streamline the assessment process and reduce the burden of multiple tests on students.
Addressing the anxiety among teachers about the TRE‑4, the minister assured them that legal recourse is unnecessary. He urged educators to seek resolution through the education department’s grievance mechanisms rather than approaching courts.
The announcement is expected to be formalised in the upcoming state education circular, and officials have been asked to brief schools on the new examination format and the grievance redressal procedure.
