The Bihar Tourism Development Corporation has floated a ₹10.81 crore tender to develop the Baba Garibnath Dham corridor and Rajla Mata temple, aiming to boost religious tourism in Muzaffarpur.

The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) announced a tender worth ₹10.81 crore for the simultaneous development of the Baba Garibnath Dham corridor and the Rajla Mata temple. The tender invitation covers design, construction, and related infrastructure works aimed at creating a seamless pilgrimage experience.

The project envisions a modernised corridor linking key shrines, upgraded temple facilities, improved parking, sanitation, and visitor amenities. It also includes landscaping, signage in multiple languages, and provisions for handling larger crowds during festivals.

BSTDC officials said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to position Muzaffarpur as a prominent religious tourism hub in Bihar. By enhancing accessibility and comfort for devotees, the state expects increased footfall, local employment opportunities, and ancillary economic benefits for nearby businesses.

Implementation is slated to begin after the tender award, with a projected completion timeline of 18‑24 months, subject to standard regulatory approvals and funding disbursements.
