Bihar Issues Flash Flood Alert as Gandak River Swells, CM Calls Emergency Meeting

The state administration has issued a flash‑flood alert following an abrupt increase in water flow in the Gandak River, which is expected to generate a wave up to three metres high. Meteorological data indicated a rapid rise in river levels, prompting officials to raise the alert across districts that lie along the Gandak basin.\n\nChief Minister Nitish Kumar chaired an emergency meeting with senior officials from the disaster management department, the police, and the district magistrates.
