After severe floods in Nepal, authorities in Bihar have warned of potential flash floods along the Gandak River, issuing alerts in several districts including Muzaffarpur.
The recent heavy rainfall in Nepal has caused the Gandak River to swell, raising concerns of flash floods in Bihar. In response, state officials have issued alerts for districts such as West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, Saran and Vaishali. The Muzaffarpur district administration has mobilised emergency teams and set up monitoring stations along the riverbanks. Residents in low‑lying areas are advised to stay alert, avoid crossing the river and follow instructions from local authorities.
