The governor noted that recent years have seen an increase in the frequency and intensity of weather events, putting millions of residents at risk and disrupting agriculture and livelihoods. He urged state agencies to upgrade monitoring infrastructure, improve data sharing, and ensure timely alerts reach vulnerable communities.
Officials from the State Disaster Management Authority have been directed to integrate satellite data and local observations to enhance prediction accuracy. The governor also called for greater coordination with the national meteorological department and the implementation of community‑based response plans.
