The Bihar government has set up a four-member high‑level committee to review and recommend reforms in the assistant professor recruitment process across state universities.

The state has announced the formation of a four‑member committee to scrutinise the current assistant professor recruitment framework in its universities.
The committee, appointed by the Chief Minister’s office, will examine the existing age limits, eligibility criteria, examination and interview procedures, and the use of guest lecturers.
Its mandate is to identify bottlenecks and propose changes that will make the hiring process more transparent, merit‑based and efficient.
The government expects the recommendations to be presented within a few weeks, after which the recruitment policy will be updated accordingly.
