Bihar is now at heightened flood risk as heavy rains in Nepal lift river levels in the north, while water released from the Banasagar reservoir and rainfall in Jharkhand push the Son River to dangerous levels in the south.

Bihar is experiencing an increased risk of flooding as river levels rise across the state. In the northern districts, heavy rainfall in neighboring Nepal has caused a surge in water flow into the rivers that cross into Bihar, raising concerns among local authorities. Meanwhile, in the south, the Banasagar reservoir has released water, and additional rainfall in Jharkhand has further elevated the Son River, threatening downstream communities. State officials have issued warnings to residents and are closely monitoring river levels, with emergency services on standby to respond to any incidents.
