Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced a new initiative aimed at assisting students and pledged a time‑bound mechanism to address their grievances.

Patna, Bihar – The state cabinet led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary formally introduced a student support programme designed to provide financial aid, counselling and academic resources to school and college learners across Bihar. The scheme, presented during a press conference, targets under‑privileged students and aims to bridge gaps in access to quality education.

Choudhary emphasized that the initiative will be backed by a dedicated grievance redressal cell that will resolve student complaints within a stipulated timeframe. An online portal and a toll‑free number will be operational from the following week, allowing beneficiaries to raise issues related to fund disbursement, eligibility or service delivery.

State officials indicated that the programme will be funded through a combination of state budget allocations and central government grants. The chief minister projected that, once fully rolled out, the scheme could reach over half a million students in its first year, improving retention rates and reducing dropout incidences.

The launch reflects the Bihar government's broader focus on education reform and social welfare, aligning with national objectives to enhance inclusive learning outcomes. Stakeholders, including teachers' unions and student bodies, have welcomed the move, urging swift implementation and transparent monitoring.
