Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary inaugurated a 62‑acre Mega Footwear & Accessories Park in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The park will host five leather factories and is projected to create about 2,100 jobs.

Muzaffarpur, Bihar – On Thursday, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary officially opened a 62‑acre Mega Footwear & Accessories Park on the outskirts of the city. The ceremony, attended by senior state officials and industry representatives, marked a significant step toward expanding the region’s leather manufacturing base.

The newly created park is designed to accommodate five dedicated leather factories, equipped with modern processing units and ancillary facilities. Officials estimate that the complex will generate roughly 2,100 direct employment opportunities for skilled and semi‑skilled workers, with additional indirect jobs expected in logistics, training and support services.

State authorities view the park as a catalyst for reviving Bihar’s traditional leather sector, aiming to attract investment, boost exports and raise the income levels of local artisans. By consolidating production under one integrated hub, the government hopes to improve quality standards, streamline supply chains and position the state as a competitive player in India’s footwear market.
