Bihar clears MBBS admissions for two medical colleges in Samastipur, Chapra

The state health minister announced approval for MBBS courses at two medical colleges in Samastipur and Chapra, with a 50-50 seat allocation.
Patna, Bihar – Health Minister Nishant Kumar said the government has cleared the pathway for MBBS studies at two newly recognised medical colleges, one each in Samastipur and Chapra. The approval includes a balanced allocation of seats, with half reserved under the state quota and the remaining half open to other categories.
Kumar emphasized that the move is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Bihar’s health infrastructure by ensuring that quality medical education is available locally. He added that producing more qualified doctors within the state will help bring specialist health services closer to residents.
The decision follows a series of approvals aimed at expanding medical education capacity across the state, addressing both the shortage of doctors and the demand for modern health facilities in rural and semi‑urban areas.
Stakeholders from the two colleges are expected to begin the admission process soon, adhering to the guidelines issued by the Medical Council of India and the state health department.
The initiative aligns with the state’s goal of creating a self‑sufficient health ecosystem where patients can receive expert care without traveling far from their homes.
