Bihar Broadens CBI Probe Scope Following BNS, BNSS Guidelines

The Bihar government has expanded the ambit of a Central Bureau of Investigation probe in line with the guidelines of the Bihar State and Bihar National Security Services.
The Bihar government has officially widened the scope of a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Bihar State (BNS) and Bihar National Security Services (BNSS). The decision was announced by the state’s chief minister in a press briefing held in Patna.
Under the new directive, the CBI is now empowered to investigate additional aspects of the case that were previously outside its purview. The expansion is aimed at ensuring a more comprehensive probe and addressing concerns raised by stakeholders.
Political analysts say the move reflects Bihar’s commitment to strengthening law‑enforcement cooperation with central agencies. It also signals the state’s intent to adhere strictly to procedural norms set by BNS and BNSS.
The CBI has been instructed to submit a revised report to the state government within the next 30 days, after which the findings will be forwarded to the central authorities for further action.
