A Delhi court has convicted BJP MLA Raju Kumar Singh in a seven-year-old case involving the death of a woman during celebratory firing. He has been sentenced to four years imprisonment and fined Rs 25 lakh.
Raju Kumar Singh, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Sahebganj in Muzaffarpur, has been convicted by the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi. The conviction relates to a seven-year-old case where a woman died during celebratory firing.
The court has handed down a sentence of four years of simple imprisonment to the MLA. Additionally, a fine of Rs 25 lakh has been imposed on him as part of the judgment.
Singh, who has previously served as a minister in the Nitish government and has been an MLA from four different parties, was found guilty in connection with the incident that occurred in 2017.
