Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay of Bhutan thanked India and the Indian state of Assam for their assistance in developing the Gelephu Mindfulness City project.

Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay publicly praised the assistance extended by India and the neighbouring Indian state of Assam for the Gelephu Mindfulness City initiative.

In a statement, Tobgay highlighted that the collaborative support reflects the deepening partnership between the two countries, especially in areas of sustainable tourism and cultural exchange.

The Gelephu Mindfulness City, envisioned as a hub for meditation and wellness tourism, is expected to benefit from the technical and logistical help offered by Indian agencies, strengthening economic ties along the Bhutan‑India border.
