Bhupalapalli Forest Office Distributes 400 Clay Ganapatis in Environmental Awareness Drive
On 11 September 2026, the Telangana Pollution Control Board and the Forest Department jointly organized a distribution and awareness program of clay Ganapatis at the Bhupalapalli district forest office, distributing around 400 statues and urging the public to replace plastic POP idols with clay ones.
On 11 September 2026, the Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) and the Forest Department jointly organized a distribution and awareness program of clay Ganapatis at the Bhupalapalli district forest office.
The event was led by Jayashankar, the district nodal officer, and AES Dr. Srikanth, with the participation of District Forest Officer Shri J. Kishtagoud, IFS. DFO Shri J. Kishtagoud highlighted the environmental damage caused by plaster of Paris (POP) idols and urged the public to adopt clay Ganapatis.
Approximately 400 clay Ganapatis were handed out to the public and staff. The distribution was attended by FDO Shri Apalakonda, FRO Ms. Srijan Kumari, other forest officials and TGPCB personnel.
The initiative aims to promote eco-friendly practices and reduce pollution from POP idols in the region.
