The state government has approved a ₹1,758 crore project to widen the 44.83‑km stretch between Bhopal and Vidisha into a four‑lane highway and construct three bypasses to ease traffic.
The Madhya Pradesh government has sanctioned a ₹1,758 crore scheme to upgrade the 44.83‑kilometre corridor linking Bhopal and Vidisha into a four‑lane highway.
The project will also include the construction of three bypasses designed to divert through‑traffic away from town centres, thereby reducing congestion and travel time.
Work is expected to commence in the coming months, with a phased approach that prioritises sections most affected by heavy traffic.
Officials say the improved road will boost connectivity for commuters and support economic activity between the two districts.
