A Volkswagen dealership employee in Bhopal was traced by police after stealing a luxury car worth over Rs 22 lakh, using GPS data following a month-long manhunt.
Police in Bhopal have successfully traced a luxury Volkswagen vehicle that was stolen from a local dealership by one of its own employees. The suspect, identified as Gajendra, is accused of absconding with the car, which has a market value exceeding Rs 22 lakh, on the night of September 25.
The theft initially went undetected until a routine inventory audit revealed the missing vehicle. Upon discovering the discrepancy, the dealership management reported the incident to the authorities, prompting a search for the staff member and the car.
Despite vanishing for more than a month, the suspect could not evade law enforcement indefinitely. Police utilized the car's built-in GPS tracking system to locate the vehicle, which led to the recovery of the car and the apprehension of the employee.
The incident highlights the effectiveness of modern tracking technology in solving vehicle theft cases, even when suspects attempt to hide for extended periods.
