Bhopal’s Dussehra celebrations will feature five large stages, with a 105‑foot Ravana effigy at Kolar, alongside 101‑foot and 90‑foot figures at Jamburi Maidan and Kalyasot, and major events at TT Nagar and Bittan Market.
The municipal authorities in Bhopal have finalized plans for an extensive Dussehra programme that will see five major stages set up across the city. At Jamburi Maidan, a 101‑foot tall Ravana effigy will be erected, while the Kolar venue will host the state’s tallest figure, measuring 105 feet. In Kalyasot, a 90‑foot replica will also be prepared for the traditional burning ceremony.
In addition to these towering structures, the neighborhoods of TT Nagar and Bittan Market are slated to host elaborate celebrations featuring cultural performances, lighting displays and devotional gatherings. Organisers have coordinated with local vendors and security agencies to manage the expected crowds and ensure smooth proceedings.
The multi‑site arrangement reflects Bhopal’s effort to make this year’s Dussehra one of the most spectacular in recent memory, drawing devotees and tourists alike to witness the iconic effigies being set ablaze at sunset.
Officials have urged citizens to follow safety guidelines, especially around the pyre zones, and have arranged for medical and fire‑fighting teams to be on standby throughout the festivities.
The events are scheduled for the traditional Dussehra date, with the main pyre lighting expected to take place in the evening, marking the culmination of the nine‑day Navaratri celebrations in the capital of Madhya Pradesh.
