Private hospital owners in Bhopal staged a street protest demanding the release of pending Ayushman Bharat payments and removal of NABH certification requirements.
In Bhopal, a group of private hospital operators took to the streets to protest the delayed disbursement of funds under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The protest, which began early this week, highlights that payments have been pending for six months, leaving hospital staff unpaid and drug vendors unable to settle dues.
The operators argue that the prolonged delay is crippling the financial health of their institutions, affecting both employee wages and the supply chain of essential medicines. They contend that the lack of timely payments jeopardises patient care and the overall sustainability of private healthcare providers.
Alongside the demand for immediate payment, the demonstrators called for the removal of the mandatory National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) certification requirement, claiming it adds an extra burden to already strained resources.
