The Bhopal administration used a bulldozer to demolish 20 commercial units and two residential structures on a plot in Govindpura’s Narela Shankari that was valued at approximately ₹15 crore. The operation cleared 10,760 square feet of land, returning it to state control. Local residents had been operating the shops and houses on the land without permission, leading to the eviction.
The government cited the illegal occupation and the need to protect public assets as the main reasons for the demolition. Officials said the reclaimed land will be used for future public development projects.
