Bhopal Builder Jishan Ali Charged for Securing ₹2 Crore Loan Using Daughter’s Gift Land as Collateral

Bhopal police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) registered a First Information Report against builder Jishan Ali and his spouse after gathering evidence that they misrepresented land gifted to their daughters as their own property. The alleged fraud involved using the said plot as collateral to secure a loan of approximately ₹2 crore from a bank.\n\nAccording to the FIR, the couple listed the daughter‑named land in loan documents as a personal asset, thereby deceiving the lending institution. The loan was reportedly taken to fund construction activities, but the misrepresentation could expose the bank to significant loss if the loan defaults.\n\nAuthorities have filed the case to halt any recovery actions that might affect the daughters’ rightful ownership of the gifted property. The investigation remains ongoing, and the accused face charges under sections related to cheating, criminal breach of trust and fraud.\n\nIf convicted, Jishan Ali and his wife could face imprisonment and monetary penalties, while the bank may seek restitution for the loan amount.
