The Bhopal municipal administration has labeled fifteen firecracker stalls in Halalpur market as a public nuisance and will move the market out of the city once the high court stay is lifted, subject to compliance with thirteen safety conditions.
The Bhopal municipal authorities have taken a stringent step to curb fire‑cracker related hazards by declaring fifteen stalls in the Halalpur firecracker market a "public nuisance". The decision follows concerns that the densely packed shops pose a serious risk to public safety, especially during the festive season.
The administration has stipulated that the market will be relocated outside the city limits once the high court’s earlier stay order is withdrawn. Until the relocation is effected, shop owners must adhere to a set of thirteen safety measures prescribed by the officials, covering storage, handling, and display of fireworks.
Officials warned that any violation of the stipulated conditions will attract penal action, underscoring the government’s resolve to prevent accidents. The move is part of a broader effort to ensure compliance with safety norms and protect citizens from potential firecracker explosions.
The decision has been communicated to the affected traders, who are now required to implement the safety protocols immediately while preparations for the market’s eventual shift are underway.
