The Amilionn‑ITI component of BharatNet Phase‑3 has exceeded the 40% mark in Himachal Pradesh, according to ET Telecom.

The Amilionn‑ITI segment of the BharatNet Phase‑3 rollout has reported that more than 40% of its work in Himachal Pradesh is now complete, ET Telecom said. This milestone reflects steady progress in extending high‑speed broadband infrastructure across the state’s rural areas.

BharatNet Phase‑3, a central government initiative, seeks to provide reliable internet connectivity to gram panchayats and remote villages. The Amilionn and Indian Telephone Industries (ITI) agencies are jointly responsible for laying fiber optic cables and setting up the necessary network nodes in the hilly terrain of Himachal Pradesh.

The achievement comes as the project moves toward its target of full coverage for all designated villages. Officials expect the remaining work to continue over the next months, aiming to boost digital services such as e‑education, tele‑medicine and e‑governance for the state's residents.

State authorities have welcomed the progress, noting that improved connectivity will help bridge the digital divide and support the broader Digital India agenda.

The next phases will focus on activating the installed infrastructure and ensuring that end‑users in remote hamlets can access affordable broadband services.
