Police in Bengaluru have confiscated fake medicines worth ₹5 crore and are investigating over 90 hospitals and clinics for possible involvement in a large-scale counterfeit drug operation.

Police in Bengaluru announced the seizure of counterfeit medicines worth ₹5 crore during a recent operation targeting a large-scale drug racket.

The crackdown was led by senior police officer Khader, who confirmed that the fake drugs were recovered from a storage facility in the city.

Following the seizure, investigators are probing more than 90 hospitals and clinics across Bengaluru to determine whether they were complicit in distributing the counterfeit medicines.

Authorities warned that counterfeit drugs pose serious health risks and urged the public to verify the authenticity of medicines before purchase.
