The new stretch of Bengaluru Metro's Pink Line is slated to begin operations in September, pending final clearance from the central government.

The Bengaluru Metro Authority has announced that the latest extension of the Pink Line will be ready for service in September. The new stretch will add several stations to the existing network, improving connectivity for commuters in the eastern parts of the city.

The project, which has been under construction for the past two years, is now in the final phase of testing and commissioning. Officials say that the line will run from the current terminus to a new terminal station, providing a direct link to key residential and commercial areas.

However, the launch is contingent on receiving the final nod from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The central government’s approval is required to clear the last regulatory and safety checks before the line can be opened to the public.

Once operational, the Pink Line extension is expected to reduce travel times for thousands of daily commuters and support the city’s broader urban mobility plan.
