Hotel and pub operators in Bengaluru fear a loss exceeding ₹500 crore after the Bangalore Municipal Body announced plans to impose a dry-day ban on alcohol sales during upcoming major days.

Bangalore Municipal Body (BMBP) has announced its intention to issue a dry-day order for upcoming major days in Bengaluru, banning alcohol sales in the city.

The proposed ban is expected to hit the hotel and pub sector hard, with owners estimating potential losses of more than ₹500 crore.

In response, the hotel owners' association has petitioned the municipal body to withdraw the order, citing the significant economic impact on the hospitality industry.

The BMBP has not yet confirmed a final decision, and stakeholders are awaiting further clarification on the matter.
