Bengal, Karnataka and Delhi have named their squads for the 2026 Saeed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, with Bengal including Mohammad Shami, Mukesh Kumar and Shahbaz Ahmed, and Abhimanyu Ewasing appointed captain.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the squad lists for three participating states—Bengal, Karnataka and Delhi—for the upcoming 2026 Saeed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. The announcements were made through official channels earlier this week, marking the final preparation stage before the tournament's kickoff.
Bengal's lineup features a blend of experience and youth, with fast bowler Mohammad Shami and all‑rounder Shahbaz Ahmed securing spots alongside promising pacer Mukesh Kumar. Veteran batsman Abhimanyu Ewasing has been named captain, tasked with steering the side through a competitive group stage.
Karnataka and Delhi also unveiled their rosters, each highlighting a mix of established domestic performers and emerging talent. Notably, both teams have given opportunities to senior bowlers Shami and Ishant Sharma, signalling a strategic push to strengthen their pace attacks.
The selections come at a time when the Mushtaq Ali Trophy is viewed as a crucial platform for players aiming to break into the Indian Premier League and the national side. Analysts expect the tournament to showcase high‑octane cricket, with the newly announced squads poised to deliver compelling performances.
