Basavanna is the Sun of Humanity, Says Minister at 'Swabhimani Kalyan Parva'
Minister Ishwar B. Khandre inaugurated the 'Swabhimani Kalyan Parva' silver jubilee celebrations in Basavakalyan. He highlighted Basavanna's teachings of equality, labor, and charity.
Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Ishwar B. Khandre, inaugurated the 'Swabhimani Kalyan Parva' silver jubilee celebrations in Basavakalyan. He addressed the gathering at the M.M. Beg Kalyana Mantapa, stating that Basavanna, who gave the world the concepts of equality, labor, and charity, is the sun of humanity.
Khandre also mentioned that the state government is providing funds for the construction of the Anubhava Mantapa in Basavakalyan. He emphasized that 770 pillars of the Anubhava Mantapa will be inscribed with 770 verses of Sharanas, serving as a model for unity among Lingayat communities. He lauded the efforts of Poojya Channabasavanand Swamiji and Poojya Gangamata for organizing the event, highlighting the importance of unity.
Poojya Sri Jagadguru Dr. Channabasavanand Swamiji, who presided over the event, expressed concern over the lack of development in the Puras Kattte area of the town. He stressed the importance of upholding Basavanna's teachings, particularly the concept of 'Ivanamma' (We are one), and urged the Lingayat community to work together for the preservation of their distinct faith.
Rajashree Shrikant Swami, the Vice President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee's Women's Wing, lauded the contributions of Mata Mahadavi in spreading Basavanna's teachings. She expressed regret over the current state of the institution established by Mata Mahadavi, claiming it has been infiltrated by self-serving individuals.
The event also saw the release of a Vachana Chintan Patrika by Abdur Razak Khaderi from Dharwad and a captivating performance by the Tarangini Dance Troupe from Chitradurga. Several prominent figures, including Poojya Sri Dr. Jayabasanand Swamiji from Chikmagalur, Poojya Basaveshwar Swamiji from Andhra Pradesh, Poojya Guru Swamis, and various Matajis, graced the occasion.
