The Reserve Bank of India has declared banks closed on September 14 across multiple states in observance of Ganesh Chaturthi.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released its holiday calendar for September, stating that banks will remain closed on 14 September in several states in celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi.

The announcement lists Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Goa among the states where banking operations will be suspended. Other states such as Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh will also observe the holiday, while a few regions will remain open.

Customers in affected areas should plan their transactions accordingly, as ATMs, online banking, and customer service counters will be unavailable on the day. The RBI advises checking the official website for a complete list of closed branches.

The holiday follows the RBI’s practice of aligning banking closures with major cultural festivals, ensuring that employees can observe the occasion without disrupting financial services across the country.
