Around 2 a.m., thieves cut an IDBI Bank ATM just 100 metres from the T.O.P. in Gaurakshani, Sasaram, stealing several lakh rupees; CCTV footage captured three masked assailants.
The robbery took place in the early hours of the morning, at approximately 02:00 hrs, in the Gaurakshani locality of Sasaram, Bihar. According to police, the perpetrators targeted an IDBI Bank ATM situated just about 100 metres from the local T.O.P. (Traffic Operations Point).
Investigators say the criminals used cutting tools to breach the machine’s casing and quickly removed cash bundles amounting to several lakh rupees before fleeing the scene. The exact sum has not been disclosed, but officials confirmed that the loss runs into multiple lakhs.
Surveillance cameras installed at the bank captured three individuals wearing masks and dark clothing as they carried out the heist. The footage has been handed over to the Sasaram police, who have launched a focused investigation and are working to identify and apprehend the suspects.
Police spokesperson Shashi Kumar stated that teams from the district crime branch are reviewing the CCTV material and have already traced the vehicle used by the robbers. Arrests are expected in the coming days as the probe progresses.
