A new plan aims to build nine fully equipped industrial townships in the Bangalore Metropolitan Region, spanning roughly 13,500 acres and featuring technology, sustainability and residential facilities.

The Bangalore Metropolitan Region (BMR) has unveiled a comprehensive development plan for nine integrated industrial townships covering approximately 13,500 acres. The townships will incorporate advanced technology infrastructure, sustainable practices and residential amenities to support a modern industrial ecosystem.

The initiative seeks to create a balanced mix of manufacturing, research and development, and housing facilities, thereby attracting investment and generating employment opportunities in the region.

Stakeholders emphasize that the project will enhance the region’s competitiveness while promoting eco‑friendly development. The townships are expected to be completed in phases, with the first phase targeting key industrial corridors within the BMR.

Local authorities are coordinating with private partners to ensure that the townships meet high standards of connectivity, utilities and environmental compliance.

The development is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Bengaluru’s position as a leading technology and manufacturing hub in India.
