The Badrinath shrine saw a record surge in visitors during this year’s Char Dham pilgrimage, according to reports.
Badrinath, the revered Himalayan shrine in Uttarakhand, registered an unprecedented influx of pilgrims during the ongoing Char Dham Yatra. The surge reflects growing interest in the traditional pilgrimage circuit that includes Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Tourism officials noted that the number of devotees arriving at the Badrinath temple this season surpassed previous records, indicating both improved accessibility and heightened spiritual enthusiasm across the country.
The temple management has been coordinating with local authorities to ensure smooth crowd management, sanitation and safety measures, especially given the challenging high‑altitude environment.
While exact figures remain to be released, the trend underscores the continued significance of the Char Dham route in India's religious tourism landscape.
The record footfall is expected to boost the regional economy, benefitting hotels, transport services and local vendors that cater to the pilgrim community.
