Two successive tremors struck the Chamba and Kangra districts of Himachal Pradesh, causing panic and minor structural damage.

The northern state of Himachal Pradesh was jolted by two earthquakes that occurred in rapid succession, with the epicentres reported near the Chamba and Kangra districts. Residents in both areas felt strong shaking that lasted for several seconds, prompting immediate alarm.
Local authorities confirmed that the tremors, while not of high magnitude, were enough to rattle homes, shatter glass panes and cause minor cracks in older structures. No major casualties have been reported so far, but a few injuries from falling objects were recorded.
Emergency response teams have been dispatched to assess damage, clear debris and provide assistance to affected families. The state disaster management unit has urged citizens to stay vigilant, avoid damaged buildings and cooperate with rescue personnel as aftershocks are possible.
The seismic activity is being monitored by the India Meteorological Department, which has advised the public to remain prepared for any further movements and to follow safety guidelines issued by local officials.
