Ayodhya’s tenth Diyeotsav saw more than 3 million lamps lit along 56 ghats on the Sarayu river, setting a new world record. The event was witnessed by the Vice‑President and Chief Minister.
The tenth Diyeotsav in Ayodhya, held on 25 January, attracted thousands of devotees who gathered along the Sarayu river to light more than 3 million lamps on 56 ghats. The massive illumination, which included a special display of Ram’s pad, was organized by local authorities and religious organisations.
According to the organisers, the count of lamps exceeded the previous world record, making Ayodhya the first place to achieve such a scale of lighting in a single festival. The event was broadcast live and received widespread attention from national media.
The Diyeotsav, a traditional Hindu celebration, marks the beginning of the Ram Navami season. Devotees believe that lighting lamps symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and the divine presence of Lord Rama.
The Vice‑President and the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh attended the ceremony, underscoring the event’s significance for the state and the country. Their presence added a dignified tone to the festivities, which concluded with a communal feast for the participants.
