The Uttar Pradesh government, citing the Special Investigation Team's status report, informed the Supreme Court that surveillance cameras at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya have recorded 105 separate incidents of offering theft, not the 70 incidents previously reported.
The revelation emerged after a review of the temple's CCTV archives, which captured each unauthorized removal of chadhava (offering trays) over the past months. The corrected figure underscores a higher frequency of the crime than earlier estimates.
