Authors Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh have withdrawn from the Salman Khan‑starrer ‘Maatrubhumi’, stating the film deviates from the narrative of their book.
Veteran writers Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh announced that they are no longer associated with the upcoming Salman Khan film ‘Maatrubhumi’. The decision was disclosed in a brief statement released to the media.
The authors explained that the cinematic version has moved beyond the account presented in their book, diverging from the factual narrative they had documented. They felt the changes were significant enough to warrant a complete disassociation.
‘Maatrubhumi’, starring Salman Khan, continues its production schedule, but the creators of the source material will not be credited or involved in the final product.
The move underscores the occasional friction between literary sources and film adaptations, especially when creative liberties alter the original storyline.
No further comments were offered by the film’s producers regarding the authors’ withdrawal.
