The Election Commission of India announced that the State Secretariat (SSR) for Assam will commence on November 2 to update the voter roll. This process will involve adding new voters, removing duplicates, and correcting errors.
The SSR is a critical step ahead of the upcoming elections, ensuring that the electoral register accurately reflects the eligible voters across the state.
Once the SSR is complete, the Commission will compile the final list, which is scheduled to be released on January 4, 2024, and will be used for all future elections in Assam.
The updated voter roll will be made available to the public through the Election Commission’s website and local electoral offices, allowing voters to verify their registration status.
