Assam Rifles Confiscates Yaba Tablets Valued at Rs 2 Crore in Tripura

Assam Rifles announced on Thursday that a joint operation in Tripura resulted in the seizure of Yaba (methamphetamine) tablets estimated at Rs 2 crore. The drugs were recovered from a concealed cache during a routine security sweep in a remote area of the state.\n\nThe seized quantity, officials said, represents a significant haul in the ongoing fight against narcotics trafficking in the Northeast. Yaba, a potent stimulant, is often smuggled across borders and distributed through local networks.\n\nSenior officials from the force did not disclose the exact location but confirmed that the operation was part of a larger anti‑drug initiative coordinated with state police. No arrests were reported at the time, and the seized tablets have been handed over to the forensic laboratory for further analysis.\n\nThe seizure underscores the heightened vigilance of Assam Rifles in curbing illegal drug flows that threaten the region’s security and public health. Authorities said they will continue to monitor and dismantle trafficking routes linked to the seized consignment.
