MLA Sanjay Kishan surveyed the damage caused by recent floods and river erosion at the Rangagara Tea Estate in Assam.

Assam's legislator Sanjay Kishan arrived at the Rangagara Tea Estate on Monday to assess the impact of recent flooding and riverbank erosion. The tea plantation, located in a low‑lying area of the state, has been inundated by water and suffered significant soil loss along its perimeter.

Kishan inspected the water‑logged fields, damaged tea bushes and the eroded embankments, noting that the conditions could affect the upcoming harvest. He met with the estate manager and local workers to understand the extent of the loss and the immediate needs for de‑watering and soil stabilization.

The MLA assured that the district administration would expedite relief measures, including pump rentals, temporary shelters for affected labourers and financial assistance for replanting. He also promised to coordinate with the state agriculture department to provide technical support for erosion control.

Authorities are expected to submit a detailed damage report within the next few days, which will form the basis for compensation claims and rehabilitation plans for the estate and its workforce.
