Assam Man Arrested for 1,090 China‑Linked Cybercrimes

Police in Assam arrested a suspect on Monday, who is alleged to have carried out 1,090 cybercrimes linked to a China‑based racket. The arrest came after a joint investigation by the state cybercrime cell and the Central Bureau of Investigation. Authorities say the suspect used phishing, fake e‑commerce sites and social media scams to defraud victims across India. The case is now under the purview of the Assam High Court, and the suspect faces charges under the Information Technology Act.
