The Times of India reports that Assam has topped the national ranking for the use of the NATGRID intelligence platform and for implementing recently enacted criminal legislation.

A ranking released by the Ministry of Home Affairs shows that Assam has secured the top spot in the country for its utilisation of the National Intelligence Grid (NATGRID). The state’s agencies have reportedly accessed the real‑time data-sharing platform more extensively than any other region, enhancing coordination among security and law‑enforcement bodies.

In parallel, Assam also leads in the implementation of the newly introduced criminal laws that were passed by Parliament earlier this year. State officials have rolled out the provisions swiftly, aiming to strengthen the legal framework against serious offences.

The dual achievement underscores Assam’s focus on both advanced intelligence infrastructure and rapid legal reform. Analysts suggest that the state’s proactive approach could serve as a model for other regions seeking to modernise their security and judicial processes.
