The Assam government has inaugurated a dedicated multilingual helpline for farmers, aiming to streamline infrastructure development and provide timely assistance across the state.
The Assam government today launched a new multilingual helpline dedicated to farmers, with the objective of making infrastructure projects more inclusive and accessible. The service, which is available in Assamese, Hindi, English and several local dialects, allows farmers to report issues, seek guidance and receive updates on ongoing development initiatives.
Operated from a central call centre in Guwahati, the helpline will be staffed by trained personnel who can provide technical advice on irrigation, road connectivity and rural electrification projects. Farmers can also use the service to file complaints about delays or deficiencies in public works.
Officials say the initiative will help bridge communication gaps and accelerate the implementation of state‑wide infrastructure plans, ultimately improving productivity and livelihoods for the agrarian community.
