The Assam state administration has released a set of rules governing the movement of the chief minister’s convoy, outlining routes, security protocols and public notification procedures.
The Home Department of Assam issued a formal circular detailing new guidelines for the movement of the chief minister’s official convoy. The document specifies that every convoy must follow routes pre‑approved by district authorities and be coordinated with local police units in advance.
Under the rules, the convoy is required to notify the public at least 24 hours before departure through local media and digital platforms, allowing commuters to plan alternate travel arrangements. Vehicles accompanying the chief minister will be limited to essential security staff, and any deviation from the approved itinerary must be reported immediately.
The government said the measures aim to streamline security operations while reducing traffic congestion in urban and rural areas. Officials added that the guidelines will be reviewed periodically to incorporate feedback from law‑enforcement agencies and the public.
Implementation of the directives is effective immediately and applies to all future movements of the chief minister’s official vehicle across the state.
