Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reviewed ongoing PM‑DeVINE projects in Assam and called for quicker approval processes to accelerate development.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma convened a review of the infrastructure initiatives being implemented in Assam under the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North‑East (PM‑DeVINE). The meeting brought together officials from the state government and central ministries to assess progress on the projects aimed at improving connectivity and public amenities.

During the review, the CM stressed that prolonged clearance procedures are hampering timely execution. He urged the concerned agencies to fast‑track land acquisition, environmental and other statutory approvals so that the projects can move ahead without unnecessary delays.

Sarma also pledged full cooperation from the Assam administration to facilitate smoother coordination between state and central bodies. He highlighted that accelerating these works is essential for boosting the region’s economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.

The call for faster clearances aligns with the broader objective of PM‑DeVINE to bridge infrastructure gaps in the Northeast, positioning Assam as a key beneficiary of the central government’s development push.
