Assam's chief minister visited New Delhi to confer with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the state's ongoing flood recovery efforts and upcoming development projects.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma travelled to New Delhi for a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The discussion focused on the extensive flood damage that has affected large parts of the state and the measures required to accelerate recovery.
The two leaders reviewed progress of relief distribution, rehabilitation of displaced families, and restoration of critical infrastructure such as roads and bridges. They also examined the effectiveness of existing flood‑mitigation schemes and identified gaps that need immediate attention.
Beyond immediate relief, the dialogue turned to Assam's longer‑term development agenda. Both officials highlighted plans for improving connectivity, boosting agriculture, and attracting investment in the state's industrial corridors. The meeting concluded with a commitment to channel additional central assistance to support these initiatives.
The CM assured the Prime Minister that the state government will continue to coordinate closely with central agencies to ensure swift implementation of agreed actions.
