Assam CM Meets PM Modi to Outline Flood Recovery Roadmap for Affected Districts

Assam's Chief Minister held a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss a comprehensive reconstruction strategy for districts that suffered severe flooding this season. The discussion focused on immediate relief measures, restoration of agricultural lands, and rebuilding of critical infrastructure such as roads, schools, and health centres.

The roadmap outlined a phased approach, beginning with rapid deployment of relief kits and cash assistance to the most vulnerable families, followed by longer‑term projects aimed at improving flood‑resilient housing and reviving local economies. Both leaders emphasized the need for coordinated efforts between central and state agencies to accelerate recovery.

State officials said the plan also includes financial support for farmers to replant crops, rehabilitation of displaced workers, and the establishment of early warning systems to mitigate future flood risks.
