Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised Sunidhi Chauhan’s recent concert in Guwahati, noting that the city’s live‑music circuit is gaining momentum.
Sunidhi Chauhan performed a high‑energy concert in Guwahati earlier this week, drawing a sizable crowd of music lovers from across Assam. The event, organized by local promoters, featured a mix of the singer’s chart‑topping Bollywood numbers and regional favorites.
Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the show and publicly commended Chauhan’s performance, describing it as a “vibrant showcase of talent” that resonated with the audience. He added that the city’s live‑music scene is “just heating up,” reflecting a growing appetite for concerts and cultural events.
The CM’s remarks underscore a broader push by the state government to nurture the performing‑arts ecosystem, including support for new venues, festivals and artist collaborations. Industry observers note that Guwahati has seen an uptick in live gigs over the past year, signaling a shift from a predominantly film‑music market to a more diversified entertainment landscape.
Looking ahead, officials hinted at plans to attract more national and international acts to Assam, aiming to position Guwahati as a regional hub for live performances. Sunidhi Chauhan’s concert is being cited as a benchmark for future events that could further energize the state’s cultural calendar.
