Assam Aims for 3.49 Lakh Kisan Credit Card Accounts

The Assam government has announced its ambitious plan to issue 3.49 lakh new Kisan Credit Cards (KCCs) to farmers across the state. This initiative aims to provide financial support to farmers, enabling them to access credit for agricultural activities. The government has also set a target of establishing an agriculture infrastructure fund worth Rs 2,050 crore. This fund will be utilized to develop and improve agricultural infrastructure in Assam, including irrigation systems, storage facilities, and processing units.
