Ashok Kumar Gupta has been appointed as the new Registrar of National Institute of Technology Raipur, taking over administrative duties from his predecessor.
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur announced on Monday that Dr. Ashok Kumar Gupta will assume the role of Registrar, effective from July 1, 2024. Gupta, a seasoned academic administrator, previously served as the Deputy Registrar at NIT Surathkal and has been instrumental in streamlining administrative processes across the institution. His appointment follows the retirement of the former Registrar, Dr. Ramesh Chandra, who oversaw significant infrastructural expansions during his tenure.
Gupta’s extensive experience in academic governance is expected to bolster NIT Raipur’s efforts to enhance student services, faculty support, and research collaborations. The institute’s director, Prof. S. K. Sharma, expressed confidence that Gupta’s leadership will further elevate the college’s national standing.
In a statement released by the institute, Gupta emphasized his commitment to maintaining transparency, improving campus facilities, and fostering a culture of academic excellence. He also highlighted plans to introduce digital platforms for administrative efficiency.
The appointment reflects NIT Raipur’s ongoing strategy to recruit leaders with proven track records in higher education administration, aiming to sustain the institute’s growth trajectory and improve student outcomes.
